Helping others

Standard

Within the past 10 years I’ve been working to better myself and help anyone who asks me. I’ve gotten up in the middle of the night to talk to someone who was upset, left work because a friend didn’t know how to change a tire or truly listened to someone who called or texted me disgustingly early in the morning. (I’m a very light sleeper). Zig Zigler said:

You will get everything you want, if you help enough people get what they want.

This is never my intention for doing anything though I do fully appreciate that statement. I help others because I want to and in the long run I benefit from it. When I volunteered at American Red Cross I decided to become an instructor, I didn’t “get paid” monetarily for teaching a class; however, I get to learn the skills of public speaking, the great feeling of knowing that I positively affected people’s lives, and gain the confidence to talk in front of a crowd, I also meet interesting people, have fun experiences and inspiring memories. I got to help them but I believe I got paid SO MUCH more for my actions! I have to truly agree

You will get everything you want, if you help enough people get what they want.
