Rules for Life and Relationships, Interesting People and Amazing Opportunities

Rules for Life and Relationships, Interesting People and Amazing Opportunities

Last night I was inspired! I woke bright and early and started looking for a list of Chiropractors in my zip code. I set to work cold calling to set a 15 minute consultation with the decision maker of the office. I called about 25 offices (2 of which were contacts that I received) and about a half took my name and number, 5 were not open, 2 made an appointment, 1 went out of business, and 1 called back to decline.

At lunch a 70+ year old man moved over to sit at my table as I reminded him of a lady he dated in Japan after the Korean War. He met her after a bitter divorce and sad relationship. He asked if I had someone in my life to which I answered “My 14 year old son”. He said that I should find a man who would treat us right and remember 4 things to make a relationship work: 1. Open Communication, 2. you Both Support each others goals and endeavors, 3. See and Utilize the Best in each other and lastly 4. Intimacy – from the act of spending qualify time together to sex.

He then asked what I did for work and I shared the 1 minute NutraMetrix Consultant commercial. After which he started telling me about his doctor and how he would be interested in what I have to offer. I gave him a few of my nMx cards and then I had to leave.

At 4:45 I had an appointment with a Dr who was extremely distracted because there was a death in the family and she is going out of town tomorrow. I was so grateful that she gave me time to introduce myself (she is my mom’s GP) and give a 3 minute run down of the service that I provide. (It was 3 minutes only because she asked a couple questions) She apologized that she couldn’t focus and if I could please come back next week.

Now a friend of mine just called to inform me that she knows a few physicians who are open to meeting with me about NutraMetrix! YAY Thank you!

I’m happy with how the day turned out! I feel confident with who I am and I know that I am working to help the community get healthy both physically and financially. I’m happy that I have an approachable face and people feel comfortable talking with me about personal subjects. I am also GRATEFUL that I have Amazing Friends who love me and look out for me.

Tomorrow I have 3 appointments: 1 my chiropractor, 2 a dear friend for lunch and 3. to teach a small class about Network Marketing and connecting with people.

On a side note… I was talking with a Veterans charity about teaching Vets Network Marketing skills. That would be something that I truly want to do!

Thank you to the Men and Women who chose to put their lives on the line, who sacrifice, and who are truly Honorable. Thank you for making my world a safer place! I Deeply Appreciate what you do.

So Close To Succeeding

Have you ever had those days where you are moving in the direction of your goal when suddenly your whole world turns to chaos?

My last post I had decided that I committed myself to achieving my goal, to keep pushing myself to do what I have to, and to inspire others to see that anything is possible. I was happy, kept my nose down and stayed focused on where I was going. Then while blogging I sprained/strained my back for 3 days I could barely walk. Side note coming:

Thank you to Dr Garcia (South Miami Location) and Dr Amar (Homestead Location) with the help of the staff at Affiliated Health Care Centers I feel much better and was able to run through the terminal of Miami International Airport just 3 weeks after the incident. I’m still far from 100% but I can move without much pain! Thank you.

It was 2 weeks after my incident (and 2 swim meets later) that I got on the phone with one of my mentors. He was wondering why I hadn’t posted anything. I told him about my back, not being able to move, and just being afraid of going onto my computer as I kept thinking that I would hurt myself again… silly me.  He said something that rang true to me “I believe that when we are close to what we want the Universe throws a curve ball just to see our persistence and dedication.” When he said that a part of me smiled and I KNEW that is exactly what has happened.

It has been a few weeks since I last posted and a part of me wants to use this as an excuse to stop, but a bigger part of me knows that I am close and I am determined to succeed while leading others to have the courage to take the first step.

Be Courageous Today

Taking stock of my life I noticed that I have 4 fears that have been holding me back from my dreams:

1. That if I succeed (my definition) that family and friends will turn away from me

2. That I am not a lover of talking on the phone

3. That I have to do home presentations

4. That I enjoy watching tv *laughing*

Somewhere along the line I learned that successful people are not well liked and are responsible to give to society. With that way of thinking I was afraid that my loved ones will not love me any more. This is my own insecurity. I chose to release this as I know that my family will love me no matter what and I have already cut ties with the negative people in my life.

I heard somewhere that to succeed in network marketing I have to spend hours on the phone. No other form of media is effective. In this day and age I can’t get in touch with my friends on the phone, but they will answer texts very quickly!

I was told home presentations were to only way to prospect and recruit. I hated home presentations as I don’t like strangers in my house. Being Asian we don’t wear shoes in the house and it bothered me that people wouldn’t respect this. And 20 people would be invited and only 3 would show. I prefer to meet prospects at Starbucks or a local bakery to show the marketing plan and get them on the phone with a Sr Partner who can answer all questions about the opportunity and products. Or even better to have them find me online and contact me with interest and questions. MUCH MORE Effective!

Lastly I was told that I have to give up watching tv. Granted I don’t watch too much only about 10 hours a week, but I truly enjoy it. I was listening to an entrepreneur who said that he runs his business 4 hours daily and has time to watch movies. I love that! I get to set my own hours presently 6 hours a day and work around my catching up with NCIS: LA.

Thank you Eric Worre, Lawrence Tam, David Wood and Marshall Sylver for opening my eyes and showing me a better way!

Gaining 5 New Daily Habits

By the end of the day do you feel like you should have done something? Or that you are not moving towards your goals? What I’m talking about is forming new habits. You know like waking up and brushing your teeth, putting on deodorant, and washing your face. I’ve attached a Checklist that you may use to facilitate your maintaining a new habit today. I have 15 lines though I recommend only adding 5 if you are new to adding habits. For me the daily habits I’m working on is blogging, 30 minute physical activity, 10 minutes of visualization, 30 minutes of reading a self improvement book, 30+ minutes of listening to a home study course or audio book, talking to 5 new people every day… you get the picture. Each day that I do these activities I put a check in the little box to the right… my goal is to have them all checked horizontally for the 31 days. At first there may be blank boxes, but over time you will notice that the boxes fill up. Best Wishes and Many Blessings to you and yours! I hope this helps you to take little steps towards the life you choose to live! Please comment on how this checklist helped you. Thank you!

Happy Birthday America! Deeply felt gratitude

Happy Birthday America! Deeply felt gratitude

A few years back I was one of the people who couldn’t tell you the true words of The Star Spangled Banner – I would fill in the words I didn’t know with others. I saw the episode of 7th Heaven where the father was upset for this very reason. He told the story behind the anthem. Since then I cry and/or my voice cracks with emotion when I reach a certain part. Let me tell you the story:

The Star Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key. He and a few of his fellow Americans were being held captive on a ship off Baltimore Harbor. They saw the Battle raging on the shore and he wrote down what he saw. While looking up the story to get my facts straight I found out that there are actually 4 paragraphs of what he had written. I’ve included them here.

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I like many in this Glorious country am an immigrant. My family fled my country in the 70s when the government was looking into communism. I proudly call myself an American. I give thanks to the Service Men and Women and their families who sacrifice making my world a safe place.

The part that chokes me up and fills me with emotion “And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.” The part where they wake up and see the flag still flying high over Fort McHenry.

Happy Birthday America! Happy 4th!
